COVID-19 Update
Laurus College continues to take precautions to maintain the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Starting on Tuesday, March 17, we will be limiting hours at all of our campuses to 8am – 4:30pm (Monday thru Thursday) and 9am – 4pm (Friday). Classes will continue to be taught as scheduled.
Please note that if you feel more comfortable attending classes remotely / from your home, you are welcome to do so in accordance with the College’s attendance policy (please reach out to your instructor if you have any questions). We ask that anyone who is sick stay home while exhibiting symptoms. We also ask that you stay home if you have recently traveled to a highly impacted area.
In addition, we encourage you to practice Social Distancing. Social Distancing means limiting potential exposure from others by avoiding contact and high-risk areas.
Here are some examples of how to practice Social Distancing:
• Avoid contact greetings (handshakes and hugs).
• Avoid large crowds and gatherings.
• Avoid non-essential travel.
• Attend meetings and events remotely when possible.
The following preventative measures can help prevent the spread of illness, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
1. Avoid close contact.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. When you are sick, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick too.
2. Stay home when you are sick.
This will help prevent spreading your illness to others.
3. Cover your mouth and nose.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, and dispose of the tissue immediately. It may prevent those around you from getting sick.
4. Clean your hands.
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
5. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth.
6. Practice other good health habits.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work or school, especially when someone is ill. Get proper rest, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food.
7. Cleanse and disinfect your home and work environment.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects or surfaces.
